Join us for an Old Fashioned Christmas at the Knauss Homestead
Friday Evening December 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM
There’s nothing quite like Christmas at the Knauss Homestead—especially when the candles are glowing, the hearth is warm, and music drifts through the rooms where the Knauss family once celebrated the season nearly 250 years ago. This December, step into the magic yourself at our 2025 Old Fashioned Christmas on Friday, December 5th from 6–8 PM.
Whether you’re a returning friend of the Homestead or visiting for the first time, this cherished annual tradition invites guests to slow down, reconnect with history, and experience the simple joy of an early American holiday.
A Candlelit Journey to Early Emmaus
TThroughout the evening, the Homestead will be aglow with the soft flicker of candlelight. Guided tours lead guests through the beautifully restored rooms of the 1777 Knauss Homestead, one of the few surviving Continental Plan Homes in America. Each space comes alive with stories of the Knauss family, their Moravian heritage, and what Christmas looked like in the late 1700s—long before modern holiday hustle and bustle.
Live Music to Brighten the Season: The Williams Duo
Seasonal live music from Sarajane and Ted Williams on the harp and guitar will fill the Homestead, adding warmth and cheer as you explore. Traditional melodies and familiar favorites will accompany guests from room to room, creating a soundtrack perfectly suited to a cozy, old-fashioned Christmas.
Local Refreshments and Holiday Treats
We’re thrilled to feature two beloved local partners:
-
Franklin Hill Vineyards will be pouring a selection of their most popular wines.
-
Local Mama Catering will offer delicious seasonal bites crafted with care and creativity.
Enjoy these refreshments as you stroll through the candlelit rooms and take in the spirit of the season.
Giving Back to the Community
In the true spirit of Christmas, this year’s event includes a heartfelt charitable initiative.
For every attendee—member or non-member—$15 will be donated to the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank, helping local families directly during the holiday season.
Your visit to the Homestead will not only support our ongoing preservation efforts, but it will also extend warmth and generosity far beyond our walls.
