Private tours of the Knauss Homestead require a $100 donation to ensure that we’re able to provide you with knowledeable guides and a wonderful experience. All donations to the Knauss Homestead Preservation Society are tax-deductible, as we are a 501(c)-3 non-profit organization. Plus, you’re helping protect our history for future generations!

HOW LONG DO THE TOURS LAST?
Usually about an hour – but we’ll custom-tailor your tour depending on your particular area of interest. You’ll answer a few questions as part of the booking processs, and we’ll determine how long you should plan to be at the Homestead.
WHAT IS THE FEE FOR A PRIVATE TOUR?
We require a $100 for a private tour of the homestead. This ensures that we can provide you with knowledgeable guides and the best possible experience during your tour. Our volunteers come from all over the area, and will create an amazing experience for you! Members of the Knauss Homestead Preservation Society receive one complimentary private tour per calendar year. You can view those membership options here.
WHAT DO THE TOURS INCLUDE?
Depending on what you’d like to see, as well as the weather, we’ll include a full house tour from the basement to the attic, and (weather permitting) our Pennsylvania bank barn, currently mid-restoration. The grounds, the Emmaus Remembrance Garden, and a closer look at all of the artifacts we have on display will round out your tour nicely.

We are a little hard to see from the main road… our address will show up in your GPS, just pay close attention once you’re within a few hundred yards of us. There is plenty of free parking in the CINTAS lot directly in front of the Knauss Homestead.

This beautiful renovated time capsule of the past is a vital link to our heritage and one of the oldest structures in the borough of Emmaus. The 1803 House offers tours by appointment only for families, groups or individuals.

Over 1,000 visitors annually enjoy the Museum at the Emmaus Historical Society. We conduct private tours and visits for many civic and youth organizations, as well as the general public. The Society also partners with various organizations in the community to educate and entertain while preserving Emmaus’ history. Open Saturdays and by appointment.
